"What we see is a drop,
what we don't see is an ocean."

Ever since he was a child, Rusty Orange has been interested in architecture. Later, while travelling the world to explore remoted areas such as mountains, the arctic and deserts, he discovered photography. A couple of years ago his love for architecture and exploring remoted areas found eachother: he started to explore and take photos of abandoned places.

Rusty Orange explores abandoned places all over Europe. More quickly than you might expect, grass will sproud through roads, trees will engulf buildings and wildlife will return to city streets. Eventually nature will reclaim the environment. Rusty Orange is not an art photographer. For him taking photos is just a way to capture the cadusity of live.

Wide-angle shots are taken with a second-hand Pentax K-5 or a Pentax K-3 II with a Sigma 10-20mm lens. As of June 2019 all photos are made using a Pentax K-1 with an Irix 11mm lens. Close-ups are made with a Panasonic DMC-LX100.

New projects will be posted every week.
